Mr Scott Maybury was a solicitor in a boutique insurance litigation firm for 2 years prior to being called to the Bar in 2004.
Mr Maybury practices mainly in common law and insurance matter and acts for both individuals and insurance companies across most areas within those fields. His practice has an emphasis on professional negligence claims, particularly those involving health care professionals. This includes both civil claims, disciplinary proceedings and inquests. Mr Maybury also has a busy general tort practice and has acted in claims involving negligence and has acted in claims involving negligence that has occurred overseas in places such as Fiji, Malaysia, the Republic of the Maldives and France.
Mr Maybury has a keen interest in continuing legal education and alternative dispute resolution in civil claims. Accordingly, he completed Masters of Law with Distinction, majoring in Dispute Resolution at the University of Technology, Sydney, in 2017.
Mr Maybury is a past member of one of the NSW Bar Association’s professional conduct committees, which investigates complaints made against barristers. Mr Maybury has also been a casual teacher of legal ethics at the University of Technology, Sydney.
